New Yellow Dot program helps emergency responders

A new state-sponsored program could save your life if you are hurt in a crash.

The Department of Public Safety introduced their Yellow Dot program on Wednesday, which officially kicks off in Tooele later this month.

The program has drivers place a yellow decal on the back window of their vehicle to indicate that there are medical forms for family members in the glove compartment. The forms include information on allergies, medications, physicians, surgeries or preferred hospitals.

DPS says the forms can help emergency responders better assess medical needs in an accident.
