Deputy Attorney General John Swallow announced his candidacy for Attorney General on Thursday.
"One key role of the attorney general is to keep the federal government in check," said Swallow. "That's my record as deputy attorney general, and that is what I'll do as Utah's attorney general."
Swallow currently oversees Utah's effort to repeal the controversial health care reform act that mandates that everyone buy health insurance.
Utah Senator Mike Lee and current Attorney General Mark Shurtleff support Swallow's campaign.
