Parents upset over new Logan HS truancy fines

Parents at Logan High School are upset about a new policy for truancy.

Logan HS is fining students for being late to school or being in the halls during class. Truancy Tickets can cost students $15 for the first violation, $30 for the second and $45 for the third.

The school implemented the plan after an increase in truancy and parents were informed of the new policy last week.

Logan HS isn’t the first school in Utah to implement such a rule; Riverton and Lehi High Schools also fine students for being late.
