The Utah Safety Council says every year, as many as 300,000 Utahns are injured in accidents that happen at home. They're hoping a new interactive website will help residents spot potential hazards.

"Every year approximately 450 people are killed in home accidents. That's more people than are killed on the job or on the highway," said Robert Parenti, President of the Utah Safety Council. "If you look at occupational incidents and traffic incidents they've actually been decreasing over the years with population increases. But home injuries have not."

To combat that increase in incidents at the home, the Utah Safety Council has developed a new took to put safety tips at your fingertips.

"It's an interactive program and it takes people through each room in the home and points out the most typical hazzards in those rooms," said Parenti.
