Salt Lake Police call it "Operation Friendly Reminder." They have recently been issuing warning to jaywalkers around TRAX stations. They are warning people now, but in a couple months fines will be issued.

"We're out here giving the public a friendly reminder that we're hoping people can stop jaywalking and not get hit by TRAX trains and help everybody else out," said Sgt. Jenn Diederich with the Salt Lake City Police Dept.

More than 500 people were handed yellow warning tickets for jaywalking this week.
