Republican candidate for attorney general, Sean Reyes, joined Good Day Utah on Tuesday to discuss his campaign.
Reyes said he traveled to many communities throughout the state before deciding to run for office. He said talking to people helped to reinforce his decision.
"It helped me understand what their vision is and what we hear is that they want a substantive lawyer," said Reyes. "They want somebody who's got leadership experience and they want a new direction, in some ways."
Reyes said his legal and leadership experiences make him a good candidate for the office.
"I believe that that 15 years of legal experience on the largest stages, from billions of dollars and thousands of Utah jobs at stake, clearly gives me the edge as far as legal experience," said Reyes.
As for his experience in leadership, he said he has managed a number of different organizations, including those on the state-wide level.
