Utahns gathered at Matheson Courthouse on Friday as one of hundreds of rallies nationwide in a push for religious freedom.

Peaceful protesters gathered in opposition of a federal mandate that Catholic institutions offer their employees free contraception as part of their healthcare coverage. They call it an attack on religious freedom imposed by the Obama Administration.

“Our first amendement rights have been trampled on by the federal government,” said Chris Crowder, a pastor from Layton.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on this and other health care mandates next week.
