UDOT says Interstate 80 is open again without any restrictions. The roadway had been closed Friday morning due to stuck vehicles.
As of about 10 a.m. Friday, UDOT said Interstate 80 in Parley Canyon was open in both directions with no restrictions.
“We’ve got problems all throughout the valley, but our trouble spot is Parleys Canyon eastbound on I-80,” said Corporal Todd Johnson, Utah Highway Patrol. “We’ve got a stalled semi up there that they are dealing with, trying to get chains on to. So that’s going to be shut down.”
Also, Little Cottonwood Canyon was closed around 7:30 a.m., but reopened about an hour later. If traveling in either Little Cottonwood or Big Cottonwood canyons, be aware of the restrictions, as 4-wheel drive or chains are required.
Corporal Johnson urged drives to take their time and slow down on the roads.
