Accident leaves excess water in Cottonwood Heights yards

The driver of a paving truck drove away from a water filling station while still connected, leading to a minor water spill in some yards in Cottonwood Heights.

Water spills at the filling station are a common occurrence, and a small reservoir is in place at the station to contain those spills.

The spill Wednesday morning led to the discovery of a leak at the reservoir, which allowed water to travel underneath Wasatch Boulevard and into residents’ yards near 6000 S 3200 E.

The excess water did not get inside the homes and no property damage was reported.
