Officials say a man who fell to his death at the Salt Lake City Main Library Branch Thursday morning committed suicide.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. A man in his early 30s fell from a fifth story balcony and landed just outside the library’s entrance. He fell about 95 feet.
There was a crowd of people, including some local school children, nearby at the time of the incident.
Library and school officials were working together to make crisis counselors available to the employees and students who witnessed the incident.
