SALT LAKE CITY -- Al Jefferson told a newspaper writer that he didn't see anybody beating these Spurs - not exactly a confident statement, but a truthful one.
Derrick Favors got the start Monday night and provided a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds
The Jazz trailed by three after the first quarter and by eight at halftime.
In the third quarter, Jefferson is matched up with Tiago Splitter and elevates to launch over the top of him. That got Utah within three at 61-58.
Then the wheels came off, the Jazz went scoreless for the next eight minutes while Manu Ginobli connected on three three-pointers.
Later it was Danny Green to Splitter for the layup, part of the spurs 20-2 run that gave them a 21-point lead.
The Jazz didn't go down without a fight. Jefferson's rebound and put-back capped an 11-0 run to get them within four at 83-79 with under a minute left.
Big Al finished with 26 points and 10 boards.
The Jazz still had hopes of forcing a game 5 when Tony Parker drives and misses. But all that went up in smoke when Paul Millsap has the ball knocked away and Ginobli strolls in for the easy two points.
The Jazz lose 81-87 to finish their season.
