OGDEN, Utah — A 6-year-old boy was hit by a truck in Ogden on Thursday evening and police are searching for the driver of that truck.
The boy was riding his bike southbound on the sidewalk when he was struck by a truck coming out of a side street near 2150 Adams Avenue, according to Lt. Connelly, Ogden Police Department. Police say the driver of the truck drove off, leaving the boy injured.
“I’m sure he was aware that he had struck the child that was in the roadway. It heightens our interest in identifying him and finding him to bring the charges,” said Connelly.
The boy was transported to MacKay Dee Hospital with possible broken bones. He is in stable condition, according to Connelly.
Ogden Police are now looking for a 1990 Dodge Ram pickup truck, blue and silver in color. The driver is described as a white man in his young twenties, with short hair and a mustache. There was also a male passenger in the vehicle with red hair, Connelly said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Ogden Police at (801) 395-8221.
