A memorial service was held Saturday morning for a 4-year-old boy who fell into the Weber River two weeks ago.

Corbin Anderson was taking photos with his family on the afternoon of April 28 when he fell into the river and got swept away in the fast, cool water.

Crews searched both on ground and under the water’s surface, even diverting the river, in hopes of finding Corbin’s body, but they were unsuccessful.

Corbin’s family took the time to say goodbye on Saturday, remembering him as a mischevious yet sweet boy, also expressing thanks to the community and rescuers for their support.

“They spent tons and tons of time thanking people and being so grateful for people that had helped in the incredible search for him,” said Trudy Bailey, Corbin’s great aunt. “Melanie mentioned to me, ‘They moved a river to find my baby.'”

The service focused on the reassurances provided by their faith rather than on the fact that Corbin’s body is still missing.
