The Utah National Guard will be conducting its annual Sapper Stakes this weekend, and some residents in Utah and Salt Lake Counties may hear random explosions.

The 1457th Engineer Battalion will be testing the skills and proficiency of 12B engineers (known as Sappers) through engineer-specific tasks, including demolitions, the Utah National Guard said in a press release.

Those demolitions mean there may be random explosions between Friday and Sunday. The areas most affected by the events are Bluffdale, Riverton, Herriman, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs and Lehi.
