SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City has a new recycling center.

The new 70,000-square foot building, located at 3150 West and 900 South, will allow Metro Group to recycle more materials for Utah and other states in the Western US.

“You can come in with a bag of cans if you’ve got that,” said Mark Bond, president of Metro Group. “We also deal with corporations that manufacture a certain amount of scrap metal they’re producing they have cutoffs – we buy that material as well.”

Two years ago, the Metro Group recycled more than a million metric tons of glass, plastic, rubber and electronics.
