The state forester has been given new authority to ban target shooting and fireworks.
Utah’s State Forester Dick Buehler is expected ban target shooting in Utah County.
“I just want to make sure we do the right thing. That we do the best thing we can to protect public property, to protect people, to protect firefighters and reduce the cost,” Buehler said.
Buehler may issue more bans in the next few days.
