SALT LAKE CITY - Girls with special needs took part in Utah's Miss Amazing Pageant this weekend.
The pageant, first started in Nebraska in 2007, focuses on opportunity, building confidence and self-esteem for girls and young women with disabilities.
"It just shows that these girls are able to do anything, anything they can do," said Abigail Farr, director of the pageant. "It's also a great way to build confidence in these girls. We have interviews that go on during the day, so these girls can get prepared for interviews. We also do fun crafts, they get to know friends, they get a lot of experience on stage which is a lot of fun."
This year's Miss Amazing Pageant is the first in Utah.
