McDonald’s is set to open its first purely vegetarian restaurants, but you will have to be in India to try them out.
According to the Financial Times, McDonald’s will open up the vegetarian outlets near two of India’s most acclaimed religious sites, the Golden Temple and the town of Katra, sacred to Hindus, host millions visitors each year.
McDonald’s in India already nixed beef from its menu because cows are considered sacred there.
The newspaper reports the vegetarian menu includes the McVeggie patty and McSpicy Paneer, a patty of traditional Indian cheese.
