Zombies run for organ donors and recipients

Posted

DAYBREAK, Utah – Zombies took over the streets of Daybreak on Saturday afternoon running for a cause. Runners dressed up for the Zombie Run for Life 5K and a one-mile creep and crawl.

The race was held to benefit transplant patients. It was organized by the family of a person diagnosed with Alport Syndrome. They teamed up with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association to make the race happen.

“I’ve just been amazed at the people that have come forward, people that have similar stories and share their support. It overwhelms me the support we’ve been able to get from people,” said Kellie Duckworth, COTA community organizer.

All proceeds from Saturday’s race go directly to COTA and will be used only for donor or recipient expenses.
