A new study reports that women who smoke more than triple their risk of premature death compared to nonsmokers, and that quitting nearly eliminates the increased risk, according to an article on Time.com.
The study, conducted between 1996 and 2001, included 1.3 million women ages 50 to 65.
The study found the women who quit before 40, avoided 90 percent of the increased risk of premature death from smoking.
