SALT LAKE CITY — Police released the name of the man who died after falling through a warehouse skylight Thursday morning.
They say 51-year-old Jose Parada of Salt Lake City died after falling about 30 feet at a warehouse located at 4521 West and 1980 South.
Salt Lake City firefighters first responded to the accident at 7:30 a.m. and say he was dead when they arrived.
They say Parada was working with a group of roofers when he fell.
“We don’t know exactly what caused the man to fall through the skylight, but we do know that he did fall through the skylight and the fall was fatal,” said Salt Lake City Fire spokesman Jasen Asay.
Officials say there were no obstructions that may have played a factor.
They want to warn people working at extreme heights to take all the precautions that they can to keep themselves safe.
