SALT LAKE CITY -- Local Israelis and Palestinians now living in Utah are watching as violence unfolds along the Gaza Strip.
People from the area say missile attacks are constant, but the violence has become so much worse in the last few weeks.
Their families have been asked to go into bomb shelters, and for days people were not going to work and children were not allowed to go to school. In Tel Aviv, people have only seconds to find shelter before missile attacks.
Those with family members in the area say they have been calling home every day lately to make sure everyone is safe, but there is nothing they can do half a world away.
Watch the video for interviews with two people who talked with FOX 13's Ashton Goodell about what their families are experiencing.
