SALT LAKE CITY - Sunday marked the busiest airline travel day of the year, according to Airlines for America, an airline industry trade group.
They estimate that 2.4 million passengers traveled by air on Sunday. That's more than last year, but fewer than the peak years of 2006 and 2007.
Travelers at the Salt Lake International Airport say their airline experience has been good, with short, speedy lines.
"Actually there were a couple of things that I thought were really helpful. For one, my two children, neither of them had to take off their shoes or their jackets, which was really helpful. And also I was traveling with my 86-year-old dad and he also didn't have to take off his shoes or jacket, and I thought that was helpful," said Tracy Golden, who arrived in Salt Lake City from South Carolina.
