SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Food Bank distributed bread to the public on Wednesday because of a surplus.
The Food Bank had five truckloads of hot dog buns, hamburger buns and English muffins that were distributed until 6 p.m. Wednesday. The surplus came from grocery stores and Hostess, who recently closed down.
The Food Bank had about 12,000 packages of bread.
A surplus is unusual for the Food Bank, but they say their main goal is to not let any food go to waste.
