SLC’s ‘Lot Six’ still needs some cleaning

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City’s Lot Six superfund site still faces some cleanup.

Lot Six, the former site of Wasatch Chemicals located near the intersection of 2100 South and 700 West, has gone through several clean-ups over the years.

But after four new wells were drilled last year, more contaminated soil that exceeded federal standards was discovered.

The Environmental Protection Agency recently announced more sampling and analysis needs to happen, which could take another three years to complete.
