SALT LAKE CITY — A pickup truck flew off an overpass, rolling to the road below Thursday.
It happened at approximately 4:50 a.m. on SR-201 near 3200 West.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said the truck was going too fast for the slick and icy conditions, lost control and probably over corrected.
Troopers said anytime you are on a bridge, slow down.
“The roadway is a different temperature over the bridges because you don’t have the ground insulation, you’ve got the air moving underneath it, and the ice forms a lot quicker there,” said Trooper Nicholas Street, UHP.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
