WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — A crash involving two vehicles killed one person and injured another shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday.

The accident occurred on State Route 18 near mile-marker 26. A pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer was traveling southbound on SR18, which is a two-lane highway with a passing lane in the center.

A driver in a Toyota sedan who was traveling northbound turned left in front of the truck, and the driver of the truck was unable to stop in time, according to a press release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

Both vehicles slid off the road, through a fence and into a tree after the collision. The driver of the Toyota was wearing a seat belt, but was found dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered minor chest and leg injuries, police said they don’t know if he was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the truck was treated and released after he refused transport to a hospital, according to the press release.

Utah Highway Patrol officials identified the driver of the Toyota as 60-year-old Nancy Harrison of Central. They identified the driver of the truck as 47-year-old Troy W. Hall of Veyo. Officials said the crash is under investigation.
