(by Will Holden – KDVR) SNOWDON, Wales — The death-defying video above comes courtesy of an ice climber in Wales and first appeared online over the weekend.

The camera was attached to the helmet of Mark Roberts in late February as he ducked out of the way of an ice chunk on Snowdon Mountain in the United Kingdom. Though ducking may have saved his noggin, it sent him for a rump ride without a toboggan.

The 47-year-old’s free fall down the face of the mountain lasted about 30 seconds and spanned more than 300 feet. Amazingly, Roberts was not seriously hurt after bouncing off rocks and fields of ice. All he suffered bumps, bruises and a broken ankle.

Roberts was rescued by Great Britain’s Royal Air Force.
