SALT LAKE CITY – Winger’s Roadhouse Grill announced on Friday that it will be sponsoring both the Boy Scouts’ Scout-O-Rama and Utah Pride’s Queer Prom.
In a statement released Friday, Winger’s announced the sponsorships, saying that they appreciate diversity in our community and its acceptance of many religions, gender and sexual orientations.
“Winger’s Roadhouse Grill is committed to making our communities a better place to live and work. We recognize and appreciate the diversity that exists in our communities, and believe that diversity, and the acceptance of diversity, is what makes us great,” Winger’s spokesperson Curt Gray said in the statement.
The statement says that Winger’s supports both organizations and their commitment to helping create a diverse group of future leaders.
Winger’s says it will offer Scout-O-Rama and the Queer Prom donations of equal value.
Scout-O-Rama, the Boy Scouts’ annual fundraiser, has had problems raising money this year as multiple companies backed out of sponsorship, citing the Boy Scout ban on openly gay members.
