Make-A-Wish kids hunt for thousands of Easter eggs

SALT LAKE CITY -- Easter came early on Saturday as the Utah branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation held its 16th Annual Wish Family Easter Egg Hunt in Ogden and Salt Lake City.

More than 400 Make-A-Wish kids from across the state searched for thousands of Easter eggs, and some even met the Easter Bunny. There was face-painting for the children after the egg hunt.

Shar Lewis, Make-A-Wish Utah CEO, said the children look forward to the event each year.

"It's one of the opportunities that we have to get all of our beautiful wish kids and families together to celebrate their survival, and their hope, and their life--having survived their life-threatening medical condition," she said.

Event organizers said they would like to thank the community for all of their help in putting on the event.
