KAYSVILLE, Utah – Police in Kaysville are investigating the unexpected death of a 13-year-old girl.
Officials say they responded to a medical call at 13-year-old Rebecca Tibbitts’ home on Monday. When they arrived, she was receiving CPR.
Tibbitts was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Officers have now opened an investigation into her death, calling it unusual.
“We’re just waiting on the medical examiner’s report which typically takes 6 to 8 weeks to complete. Once we get that information, it will give us a bigger picture of what caused the death,” said Kaysville Police Sgt. Paul Thompson.
Police say a possible drowning in the home is under investigation.
Rebecca Tibbitts was a student at Centennial Junior High School.
