RIVERTON, Utah — Unified Police said an autistic Riverton man who was reported missing Tuesday night was found safe in West Wendover, Nevada.
UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said 57-year-old Samuel Polisano has the mind of an 11-year-old child due to his autism, but does not require any medication.
Polisano left his home on foot at about 4 p.m. Tuesday to go to the Riverton Library. He was reported missing shortly after 10 p.m.
An investigation by Unified Police found Palisano used his debit card at the Sapp Brothers truck stop at 1300 S and I-215 in Salt Lake City at about 6:30 p.m. He was seen with a Hispanic or Indian man in his late 40s or 50s.
They were seen driving west from Sapp Bros. in a mid-90s Chevy or Geo Metro style car.
Polisano has disappeared before and generally came home before dark, police said.
