This week is the start of some new adventures, as I’ve added a weight training program to my regimen. Starting running and walking has been a small challenge, but it has been rewarding. It’s a crazy thing for me every time I look down after my workout of running or walking and see that I have traveled at least 2 miles.
My first day back doing weight training was crazy. When the doctors said to me that I would be losing muscle and explained to me how important it is to eat a lot of protein, I didn’t really realize it until the moment I picked up my first weight a few days ago. I worked out my chest and legs, and I felt a little sore immediately after the workout. But the real pain didn’t appear until the morning after—It hit hard then, and I was sore all over. It feels good though to be back at the gym doing cardio and weight training.
As far as the diet goes, I am staying away from carbohydrates, increasing my intake of fruits and vegetables, and getting a bigger dose of multivitamins. These are all of the things I need to focus on to stay successful and live a healthy life.
I am humbled and overwhelmed each day when I am out and about and people compliment me on my success and work. It feels great to lose this much weight and especially for the reasons why I am Losing for Life.
