This week has been a week with a few firsts. I was able complete the week of weight training exercises, and I experienced my first, and hopefully my last, throwing up session.
There isn’t anything new or different to report from the physical standpoint other than completing a week of weight training. It felt good, and I was also able to end my workouts with 15 minute sessions in the steam room.
I don’t weigh in again until the 22nd of April, but based on my clothing sizes I’m getting smaller. I went from wearing 6X shirts down to 4X shirts, and my pants size has gone from a 56-inch waist to a 50-inch waist!
As far as regurgitating my food, the cause behind it is a mystery. My doctors at BMI and the Salt Lake Regional Hospital have advised me that I can eat any food I want as long as it’s in moderation. For example, I can have ice cream as long as it is a small amount and it is a variety with a low glycemic index.
I believe I had a combination of foods that caused that negative reaction. I had a small bowl of chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Then I had a small pralines and cream ice cream cone. It was about 10 to 15 minutes after I had eaten my meal when I first felt the sensation to throw up.
I didn’t have any feelings of immediate relief, and the sensation to throw up did not lessen. This would continue throughout the night while I was sleeping. I went to bed thinking it was all over and done with, but I woke up periodically through the night to throw up. This went on until 2:30 a.m.
So what are my initial thoughts? I am never going to eat chicken noodle soup, a grilled cheese sandwich or pralines and cream ice cream ever again!
