SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah’s College of Pharmacy opened its doors to a new research facility on Friday.
The L.S. Skaggs Pharmacy Institute is a 150,000-square foot building designed to encourage creativity and spur major research breakthroughs. The new building has five floors, underground parking, research labs, animal facilities and conference rooms.
“We have a strong commitment to the community and we’re just delighted that with this new facility, we have the opportunity to do even more,” said Dr. Vivian Lee.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday. It included a video tribute to L.S. Skaggs, who has supported the pharmacy program for nearly 50 years.
