SALT LAKE CITY – Utahns filing state taxes will have an extra day, the Utah State Tax Commission said Monday.
According to the tax commission’s website, the state filing/payment system experienced a hardware failure on Monday night, so they extended the deadline to April 16. No interest or penalties will be assessed through midnight of April 16.
The 24-hour extension applies only to state income taxes, not federal income taxes.
