PROVO, Utah – A Hazmat situation at a research company in Provo has forced evacuations.
The research company, located near 500 South and 500 West in Provo, tests chemical reactions.
Officials say that one of those reactions didn’t go as they’d planned and a dangerous substance was released into the air. Most of that substance was contained to a hood, but some did get into the air.
Employees of the company were forced to evacuate, but no one was hospitalized.
Crews are now waiting for the substance to dissipate.
