WILLARD BAY, Utah – Crews working to clean diesel fuel out of the wetlands near Willard Bay say they have most of the spilled cleaned up.
The spill was discovered on March 18 after an 8-inch Chevron pipe broke, pouring 27,000 gallons of diesel fuel into a marsh near Willard Bay.
The Department of Environmental Quality says that as of Friday, they’ve recovered around 453 barrels of diesel so far and have around 24 barrels left.
The goal is to restore the impacted area by early June.
