Today was my two-month checkup with BMI and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, and I got to meet with the nutritionist, the dietician and the exercise therapist. All is well: I weighed in at 352 pounds, and that’s a loss of 82 pounds in two months. I feel great!
This means I’ve lost 15 pounds since my last weigh-in, and I’ve been doing the exercise needed to earn the results. I have been doing interval training, which is where I jog for a minute, and then run at a moderate speed for 90 seconds, then go back down to jogging for a minute, and then go back up to running for 90 seconds. I do that for total of 30 minutes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I do weight training. I focus on different parts of my body each day. One day it’s my chest and legs, the next it is back and shoulders, and then it’s on to biceps and triceps.
As far as my diet goes, I can pretty much eat anything. However, I choose to have a high protein diet and no carbs. I am also taking daily vitamins to supplement my nutrition. One thing I need to work on is increasing my intake of vegetables and fruits, so I can have any more consistent supply of fiber.
Everything feels good. I feel strong and healthy, and I have lots of energy. Everything seems to be going well as I follow through with the plan given to me by the doctors.
I have a goal, well a mini-goal, of getting down to 300 pounds. I am 52 pounds away from that target, which is really exciting. Thank you for your support and words of encouragement. It means a lot and helps push me every day.
