SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police arrested a man Thursday after he allegedly made terroristic threats.
Michael Don Frei was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail after he admitted to leaving the threatening message on his sister’s answering machine, according to a probable cause statement.
Frei’s answering machine message stated that he was going to “blow up the city” and that “the chief of police would be executed,” the probable cause statement said.
Police said Frei admitted to leaving the threatening message, which he said was taken out of context, after he was read his Miranda rights.
Frei faces a first-degree felony charge of terroristic threats to a governmental unit and a class B misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence with a measurable controlled substance.
