OREM, Utah — Two men were booked into the Utah County Jail Wednesday after one of them allegedly offered a 16-year-old girl money in exchange for sex.

Two sisters, ages 14 and 16, were walking near 880 N State when a man pulled up next to them and asked if they needed money, according to a press release.

The man allegedly gave the 14-year-old a $5 bill and his phone number, then told her to call if she wanted more money.

The girls told their father about the incident, and their father asked the 16-year-old to call the man and find out what his intentions were. When she called, the man offered the 16-year-old $30 to have sex with him, police said.

The girls’ father contacted Orem police, who, with the help of the girls, arranged a sting at Orem Jr. High School.

Police arrested Orem residents Alexander Navidad-Hernandez, 27, and Javier Arturo Santos-Jacobo, 36, after the allegedly arrived at the school to meet with the girls.

Navidad-Hernandez and Santos-Jacobo are both being held on charges of enticing a minor and sexual solicitation.
