SALT LAKE CITY – Questar Gas is asking for an increase in gas bills.
Questar is asking state utility regulators for permission to increase the amount it collects by $61 million, or an increase of about $50 a year for the typical residential customer.
The company says Utahns have enjoyed lower bills for the past five years thanks to an abundance of natural gas, but gas prices have recently rebounded from a 5-year low and the rate increase is necessary.
