SALT LAKE CITY — Former Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff has left his job at powerful international law firm Troutman Sanders.
Shurtleff has been under fire recently for spending time with and benefiting from the money of businessmen who seemed to work on the edge of the law, including Jeremy Johnson, now charged with fraud in federal court, and Marc Jenson, who is now in the state prison on fraud charges.
In a phone conversation, Shurtleff was clearly angry with Fox 13 and with the media in general for pursuing questions about his past fundraising and travel.
“What gives you the right to ask questions like that? I’m not a public figure anymore,” Shurtleff said.
“I resigned because the commute was too hard on my family.”
