MANTI, Utah – The Rat Fink Reunion wrapped up in Manti this weekend, and participants were there to honor a counter-culture created by Ed Roth.
Roth was a custom car builder, pin-striper and artist who moved to Manti from California. In the ‘60s and ‘70s kids built models of his cars.
Roth passed away in 2011, and every year since then friends and fans come from all over the country to gather in Manti and honor his memory.
Dave Osentowski of Gunnison said Roth was a friendly person and easy to get along with.
“He was just like the guy next door,” he said. “He wasn`t like the celebrity-type guy who didn`t have time for the little guy. He was always there to share everything with you.”
