Utah woman collecting donations for Oklahoma tornado victims

HOOPER, Utah – A Utah woman has filled her garage with donations to help residents of Oklahoma get back on their feet following severe weather and tornadoes.

Jessica Lively is from Moore, Oklahoma, and she said her mother and her uncle both lost their homes to the recent tornadoes.

Lively said all she wanted to do was help, but her project evolved into a huge project with hundreds of donations.

“Everybody lost every single thing they have and have worked so hard to get,” she said. “So we want to replace those items with new items and hope to put a smile on their face."

Volunteer Cameron Knudsen said he was happy to help out with the project.

“It's incredible what can happen in a moment,” he said. “Some people can lose everything, so least we can do is give a little of our time to come out and help those people who are in need."

Lively is accepting all kinds of donations, including clothes, toys, kitchen supplies, food and water. Those interested in donating can call 801-866-9609 or bring donations to 5561 West 5100 South in Hooper before Tuesday afternoon.
