SALT LAKE CITY – A man is in jail on several charges after he allegedly assaulted his father with a wooden spoon while drunk and arguing Monday.
Travis Tulley, 34, was intoxicated when he argued with his 71-year-old father. The argument became physical, and Tulley stabbed his father with a wooden spoon, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department watch log.
Police responded to the scene, and Tulley was combative and had “taken a fighting stance.” An officer deployed a Taser on Tulley, who was subdued and arrested on several charges, including domestic aggravated assault, abuse of a vulnerable adult and resisting arrest.
The victim was taken to a hospital in fair but stable condition.
