SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake’s Kyle Beckerman has been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Beckerman, a midfielder, has scored one point and added three assists for RSL so far this season. He was the captain of the team that won the 2009 MLS Cup championship.
Beckerman has appeared 25 times for the United States, who are currently in first place in the Final Round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He joins RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando on the roster.
The call comes less than a week before the team is set to play a World Cup Qualifier match against Honduras at Rio Tinto Stadium. The sold out game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.
