TOOELE, Utah – A 32-year-old Utah man has been charged in connection with the death of a young girl who was killed when the All-Terrain Vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident.
Chad Allen Tharp was charged with automobile homicide and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
Miranda Anderson, 7, was riding on the front seat of an ATV being driven by Tharp on Mother’s Day. The vehicle drifted into some trees, and a low-hanging branch punctured Amanda’s neck and tore an artery. Miranda died as a result of the accident.
The charges against Tharp indicate he was driving the ATV with a measurable amount of alcohol or drugs in his system.
He is scheduled to appear in court on July 8.
