TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-- A standoff sparked by a domestic dispute early Friday morning ended with an arrest.
Police officers said they responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. after a man allegedly pushed his girlfriend down a set of stairs. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect locked himself in a home and refused to come out.
Officers said they surrounded the home for several hours, and eventually fired tear gas inside. Other homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution.
The suspect, identified as Aaron Bayless, finally surrendered around 6 a.m. He has been booked into jail for aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
