A patriotic tribute to America and the everyday heroes who live in our communities, work with us and serve in the military will be celebrated at a pre-Fourth of July event June 29 in Provo. Tickets can be purchased online at www.inspiremylife.com for a half day or all day session.
An all-star cast of speakers and musicians will deliver inspiring messages about cherishing our nation’s freedoms and keeping these ideals alive in our homes and communities. Among those presenting are pianist William Joseph, a David Foster protégée, popular youth speaker and author Hank Smith, country-western singer Charley Jenkins, and Lili Anderson, professor of marriage and family counseling and a licensed private practitioner.
This motivational/musical event will be held at the Covey Center of the Arts in Provo, 425 West Center St. The first music and motivation session is from 1-4 p.m. and the second is from5:30-9:30 p.m. Program details can be found at www.inspiremylife.com. Tickets are $35 for each session or $50 for the full day.
Michael Christensen, director of the Inspire My Life programs said, “Through the combination of music, education and personal stories this motivational program strives to touch and inspire people. The focus of our music and messages is on the application of positive principles which can assist anyone to reach greater heights, achieve their dreams or simply overcome a difficult day.”
Other presenters include singer and songwriter Jessie Funk, educational leader Curtis Jacobs, Nashville recording artist Katherine Nelson, and violinist Aaron Ashton, who has performed on stage with the top recording stars of the 21st century. Smith is a writer, speaker and author focused on youth and teens with topics ranging from dating, and fulfilling personal dreams, to choosing good friends and living happy lives. He is completing a Ph.D. and teaches at BYU.
Joseph’s career as a classical and pop pianist skyrocketed after a chance meeting with Foster in Phoenix. Foster went on to produce Joseph’s first two CDs on the Warner Bros. label igniting tours and stage appearances with such electrifying artists as John Mayer, Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Kenny G, Alecia Keys, Beyonce, Michael Buble and scores of others. .
Funk has released five solo albums, published five books and toured throughout the U.S. with the Broadway musical Footloose. She has been an opening act for Donny Osmond and Billy Dean and toured with Broadway sensation Maureen McGovern. Jenkins was introduced to millions of Americans through NBC television as well as the Today Show and has performed with LeAnn Rimes, Lonestar, Montgomery Gentry, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner and many others. Nelson’s most recent CD, Born Brave, was ranked on Amazon.com’s Top Ten Hot New Releases list. She has performed with the Nashville Tribute Band and played the starring role of Emma in the film Emma Smith: My Story. Anderson is a social worker with LDS Family Services and a part-time teacher at BYU’s School of Family Life.
